Autumn & Winter '24 - The Campaign
Introducing the Autumn & Winter ‘24 Collection by Welter Shelter — an exploration of form, function, and the art of protection. A story by Migjen Rama and Sjoerd Cuypers, photographed in Monschau, Germany. A village cradled by the Eifel hills. Its history of architecture and nature frames our latest collection. A narrative where each frame is a dialogue with the elements, and every design an homage to heritage.
Monschau: a whisper of history. Its cobbled paths and timbered houses speak of quiet elegance. Guided by textures of the lanscape and beneath the skies of muted tones, Welter Shelter finds its inspiration for this collection. Here, Welter Shelter jackets find their essence - simplicity and sophistication entwined.
The river Rur flows gently through the town, providing a serene backdrop as you stroll along its banks. Not only is it beautiful now. The water, in combination with the thick forest and hills caused the region to have a damp climate, ideal for the production of woolen textiles.
One of the landmarks of Monschau’s textile heritage is the “Rotes Haus”, built by the Scheibler family, who were prominent textile manufacturers in the 18th and 19th centuries.
The textile industry played a crucial role in the economic development of Monschau, bringing prosperity and growth to the village. While the textile industry in Monschau is not what it once was, the town still celebrates this part of its heritage, and remnants of this history are visible in its architecture.
As we turn the page from Monschau’s rich past, the legacy doesn’t end; it evolves. Welter Shelter’s collection is a testament to this continuity, weaving the old with the new, leading us into the future while cherishing the crafts of yesterday.
